Are you a current or previous English or History teacher who has possibly retired, has children, or would simply love to teach a few hours weekly again? If so, we have a wonderful opportunity for you to teach the subject you love in a small group setting with awesome students, in a loving, Christian environment surrounded by the support of a caring, professional team of administration, faculty, and staff members.

(We have a highly qualified English/History teacher on staff who has time to teach one subject; therefore, we are seeking to find another teacher with a passion for “either” the subject of History or English and our teacher will joyfully teach the remaining course).

Sunrise Beach School / SBHS, a private, Pre-K-12, Christian school has an opening beginning this Fall 2022, for an experienced, outstanding MS/HS English (or) History teacher (part-time, approximately 6+ hours weekly). Our school offers small (~8/1 student/teacher ratio) classrooms allowing time for personalized, one-to-one instruction and mastery learning in a faith-based community.

Qualifications?
(**Those with a double asterisk are required):

*Washington State Teaching Certificate (preferably with an English or History endorsement)
**Bachelor’s Degree
* Hopefully also a Master’s degree in English or History (allowing the teacher an opportunity to teach University classes and AP English (or) History classes through the College Board at our school in future years
*Previous experience as a high school (and hopefully middle school) teacher
**Excellent Communication Skills
**Able to put Growth Mindset into action, along with the power of “yet” in your classroom
**Willingness to work as a member of a highly valued team
**Must have a heart for working with students and love the Lord
