South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks highly motivated and qualified individuals for the position of Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2 in the Art department.
The instructional tech supports the college mission for success in post-secondary academic transfer and workforce education that responds to the needs of the South Sound region by supporting teaching and learning in the arts studios (2-D, ceramics, digital) by:
Ensuring that faculty and students have the necessary materials for demonstration and studio projects.
Maintaining equipment and facilities through regular servicing, inventory oversight, procurement, space and equipment oversight, and student support during open studio time (including but not limited to printing presses, pottery wheels, kilns, and digital media equipment).
Supporting student success by explaining and demonstrating studio techniques and assisting students with assignments during open studio and lab times.
Supporting the efforts of the arts to maintain safe and sustainable studios and labs.
Supporting communities of art students, faculty, staff, and artists within the studio spaces.
Supporting community outreach for the arts by serving on the Gallery Committee, promoting art classes and events, and representing the College in arts communities.
