Evergreen Christian Private School (ECPS) is a K-8th Grade OSPI-approved school in Federal Way, WA. Our enrollment for 2022-2023 is 240 students, and we operate on a beautiful church campus. ECPS is hiring a full-time Principal/Director for the upcoming school year.

Position Summary
The Principal will provide the leadership and management skills necessary to maximize the efforts of teachers and students in an environment, which is conducive to educational enhancement, growth and achievement, and in support of the ECPS Mission Statement. Reports to: Superintendent
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or similar appropriate field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Prior experience as an educator or administrator. Proven leadership capabilities.
Must display an exemplary Christian life-style.
A demonstrated passion for Christian education.
Strong time management and problem-solving skills. Ability to deal with frequent changes.
Ability to perform well under pressure, while treating others with respect and consideration.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Position Responsibilities
Spiritual
Demonstrate spiritual leadership, maturity, and guidance to others.
Open Monday-morning worship
Oversee/lead weekly chapel services
Lead monthly staff devotions
Administrative
Serve as primary point of contact for school staff, and serves as the liaison between parents and teachers.
Communicate effectively with parents, students, teachers, and the community.
Submit recommended updates/changes to school policies to the Superintendent
Prepare the annual master class schedule, and coordinate any changes of with teachers and staff.
Serve as a substitute, if needed, and coordinate substitutes.
Approve/record personal days.
Attend administrator and teacher conferences.
Prepare the school’s monthly newsletter with the Activities Director.
Supervise and coordinate the work of the office team.
Communicate information to enforce school, and state policies.
Maintain safety of school environment.
Coordinate assigned school site activities.
Encourage the spiritual and professional growth of each faculty and staff member and define performance standards for faculty and staff.
Promote ECPS to current and prospective families via school tours
Academic Specialist
Partner with faculty to develop and achieve educational programs and services which are faithful to the objectives and mission of the school and which will develop students who have a Biblical worldview and are well prepared in all academic disciplines.
Instill a culture of excellence and continuous innovation and improvement.
Evaluate the school curriculum.
Compile/ maintain a thorough book inventory. Keep an accurate/detailed report of all materials costs.
Order materials for the new school year
Coordinate Assessment Testing. Order Materials. Prepare staff and students for assessment testing. Evaluate standardized testing scores with teachers, and prepare information to share with parents.
Communicate expectations for PD to teachers and formally coach teachers with documentation, and periodic in-service programs. Informal coaching will also occur by means of communication and encouragement.
Research and understand new educational methods, laws and advancements in order to share with the staff and encourage growth.
Conduct regular meetings with staff to share goals, evaluate progress, invite feedback and suggestions, develop continuous improvement plans, mentor and listen to concerns.
Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to the teacher and to the Superintendent
Oversee the Study Tables program
Coordinate Summer School
Community Building
Organize/lead the Open House in the fall and other community building events.
Drop in to classrooms to encourage teachers and students, and attend as many student activities as possible.
Be visible at arrival and dismissal times, as possible, and learn students’ and parents’ names, in order to greet them.
Achieve high levels of parent satisfaction and retention and strong parent relations.
Organize/lead the annual student retreat
Discipline
Oversee an effective discipline plan. (Maintain student discipline and follow-through with correspondence record keeping-relating to discipline.)
Meet with parents and students to resolve issues/concerns.
Assist the teachers in providing student discipline, always with the goal of spiritual growth.
Oversee coordination of detention duty.
Review truancies on a monthly basis, and by term, and apply school policies.
Coordinate with teachers and Superintendent regarding suspensions/expulsions.

Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm
Breaks: 2 weeks each for Winter and Spring, Regular Holidays, and Summer schedule is adjusted.
