Summary:
It is the responsibility of the Surgery Department Floor Supervisor to provide responsible and compassionate care to all SVRC patients. The Surgery Department Floor Supervisor is responsible for OR duties including: anesthetic monitoring, performing radiographs, scrub assisting, OR circulation, patient recovery, husbandry tasks and keeping detailed patient records. The Surgery Department Floor Supervisor must have excellent communication skills with the department managers, doctors, and other support staff in order to perform the work as delegated and produce quality results. This position requires a dependable, self-motivated individual who can prioritize tasks in a high stress, fast-paced environment. A Surgery Department Floor Supervisor should be able to diffuse any problematic situations and address them to the department managers appropriately.
The Surgery Department Floor Supervisor is responsible for OR duties including:
– Anesthetic monitoring, performing radiographs, scrub assisting, OR circulation, patient recovery, husbandry tasks and keeping detailed patient records.
– Must have excellent communication skills with the department managers, doctors, and other support staff in order to perform the work as delegated and produce quality results.
– Must be dependable, self-motivated individual who can prioritize tasks in a high stress, fast-paced environment.
– Be able to diffuse any problematic situations and address them to the department managers appropriately.
– Assists in making training protocols and training material
– Trains and mentors new Surgery Department support staff
– Portrays a positive role model for all employees; keeps the environment focused and calm; especially during high stress moments
– Maintains communication with the management team and assists them in employee oversight
– Assists the management team in developing and updating patient care systems
– Ensures duties are completed satisfactorily by the conclusion of their delegated shift
– Ensures surgery protocols are followed
– Continues to be a team member and assists in daily patient care/procedures
– Assists the management team in daily floor responsibilities and coverage; proactively plans for the day accordingly
