IMMEDIATE Opening for TIRE TECHNICIAN.
We are a well established, busy 18 Wheeler Truck Tire Retail & Service Company located conveniently off of 610 & N. McCarty Drive in Houston — The “Hub of 18 Wheelers”
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, however, not required.
Experience, preferred. however, we will train.
Qualifications necessary:
Ability to work in a face paced environment.
Not afraid to get dirty (handling Truck Tires) — We provide Company Shirts.
Ability to lift 100+ pound tires on a consistent basis.
Dismounting, balancing and mounting tires.
Inflating of tires/air check, patching tires.
Remove tires for retreading and/or repair, replacement.
Communicate with Office Staff to properly execute required service needs and submit for completion of sale & service charges.
Customer interaction….. (not always…. but, LOTS of Customers “TIP” our Service Technicians for their excellent services)
Clearly mark tires with Customer Name & location for Storage.
Use of Jack stands, impact wrenches and other heavy hand tools to perform service work.
Inspect and identify potential problems on all tires and properly perform repairs.
Train to perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies and radial runout as necessary.
Maintain a clean and presentable work environment at all times.
Ability to operate machinery with moving parts.
Comply with OSHA Regulations and safety requirements (must wear steel toe shoes/boots)
Wear proper PPE, use tire cages, and follow all other safety policies and procedures.
Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending and squatting.
MUST be able to work in a results oriented, fast paced environment as part of a team.
MUST be a Team player with respect to current Staff in place.
Many of our Tire Techs have been with us for years and we increase hourly pay rate in accordance to attendance, attitude, ability and growth in skills and job performance.
Conveniently located off of 610 near I-10 and US-59/I-69 — near the Ship Channel Bridge.
Average work week is 48 hours.
Starting pay is $12.50 hour 40 hours = ($500) plus Time and 1/2 ($18.75) a hour (over 40 hours)
Paid weekly – Direct Deposit – through ADP.
Possible Pay raise after 30 day evaluation.
60 day ‘Temp to Permanent’ position dependent on ability to learn. We encourage you with NO Experience to allow us to invest in your success as you invest in ours.
